alhousieUniversityOccupational Therapy stu-
dentsMorganHall andNikkiRoss recentlycom-
pleted an 8week clinical fieldwork placement
at the SunriseAdult TrainingCentre (SRC) in theCay-
man Islands. SRCprovides training, support and serv-
ices for the empowerment, employment and
independenceofadultswithdisabilities.PhilipKnowles,
anoccupational therapistwhoactedasapreceptor for
MorganandNikkiduring theirplacement, isalsoaDal-
housie University graduate. Philip had positive com-
ments about the students’ contributions saying, "They
haveembraced this opportunitywith sincerity anden-
thusiasmandwehavebeenblessed tohave suchwon-
derful professional students to work with our young
adult Caymanians who face a variety of significantly
challengingdisabilities."
The students alsohavepositive things to sayabout
theirexperiencesatSunrise,withMorganstating, "Trav-
elling to the Cayman Islands for a student fieldwork
placement has been an incredible opportunity. I have
had time to developmy knowledge and skills with a
wonderful staffandgroupofclientsat theSunriseAdult
TrainingCentre, aswell asexplore thisbeautiful country
andculture. Iwouldhighly recommend thisexperience
toother students."
