CAOT Conference
Over 20 of our current MScOT students and numer-
ous alumni and faculty made presentations at this year’s
CAOT Conference in Banff, Alberta. Many of our students
present at the conference each year, and this year we are
proud to announce that
Jeanette McGeough

Alicja
Mazierska
won a 2016 CAOT Student Bursary for their ab-
stract
Functional Outcomes of Music Supported Rehabil-
itation Post-Stroke: A Systematic Review
. The award is
given to the top 3 student abstracts submitted to the con-

with Developmental Disabilities - Learning from the Ex-
perts
. The research team included
David Conforti
, one of
three youth with intellectual disabilities who act as consult-
ants to the project. David has participated in all research
team meetings and was a key presenter. The findings pre-
sented at CAOT were from a larger study called

Dr. Kirsh, an expert in
mental health issues, gave an impassioned argument for
why occupational therapists should be more active advo-
cates. Following Dr. Kirsh’s presentation, a panel of our
alumni spoke about their own
advocacy experiences and
outcomes..
